OH this one brightened my morning!!

Thanks Aunt Donna!!! Everyone else...ENJOY!!!

This is an actual letter from an Austin woman sent to American company Proctor and Gamble regarding their feminine products. She really> gets rolling after the first paragraph. It's PC Magazine's 2007 editors' choice for best webmail-award-winning letter.

>>>> Dear Mr. Thatcher,
>>> I have been a loyal user of your 'Always' maxi pads for over 20 years and I appreciate many of their features. Why, without the LeakGuard Core or Dri-Weave absorbency, I'd probably never go horseback riding or salsa dancing, and I'd certainly steer clear of running up and down the beach in tight, white shorts. But my favorite feature has to be your revolutionary Flexi-Wings. Kudos on being the only company smart enough to realize how crucial it is that maxi pads be aerodynamic. I can't tell you how safe and secure I feel each month knowing there's a little F-16 in my pants.

>> Have you ever had a menstrual period, Mr. Thatcher? I'm guessing you haven't. Well, my time of the month is starting right now. As I type, I can already feel hormonal forces violently surging through my body. Just a few minutes from now, my body will adjust and I'll be transformed into what my husband likes to call 'an inbred hillbilly with knife skills.' Isn't the human body amazing?

>> As Brand Manager in the Feminine-Hygiene Division, you've no doubt seen quite a bit of research on what exactly happens during your customers' monthly visits from 'Aunt Flo'. Therefore, you must know about the bloating, puffiness, and cramping we endure, and about our intense mood swings, crying jags, and out-of-control behavior. You surely realize it's a tough time for most women.

>> The point is, sir, you of all people, must realize that America is just crawling with homicidal maniacs in Capri pants... Which brings me to the reason for my letter. Last month, while in the throes of cramping so painful I wanted to reach inside my body and yank out my uterus, I opened an Always maxi-pad, and there, printed on the adhesive backing, were these words: 'Have a Happy Period.'

>> Are you kidding me? What I mean is, does any part of your tiny middle-manager brain really think happiness - actual smiling, laughing happiness, is possible during a menstrual period? Did anything mentioned above sound the least bit pleasurable? Well, did it, James? FYI, unless you're some kind of sick S&M freak, there will never be anything 'happy' about a day in which you have to jack yourself up on Motrin and Kahlua and lock yourself in your house just so you don't march down to the local Walgreen's armed with a hunting rifle and a sketchy plan to end your life in a blaze of glory.

>> For the love of God, pull your head out, man! If you have to slap a moronic message on a maxi pad, wouldn't it make more sense to say something that's actually pertinent, like 'Put down the Hammer' or 'Vehicular Manslaughter is Wrong'.

>> Sir, please inform your Accounting Department that, effective immediately, there will be an $8 drop in monthly profits, for I have chosen to take my maxi-pad business elsewhere. And though I will certainly miss your Flex-Wings, I will not for one minute miss your brand of condescending bullshit. And that's a promise I will keep. Always. . .

>>> Best, Wendi Aarons Austin , TX

One more sick kid...

Well, the girls are all better but the boy woke up sick today. Oh well, better to get it all out now then next week when school starts. Hopefully this will build up immunities just enough that they'll pass right by the first wave of cold season!! Hey, a mom can hope can't she?

Mark is excited to get his last three night shifts out of the way! Tonight is the first step to the end! Still not sure what to expect on this whole "normal" schedule thing...I'm so GOOD at being ABnormal!!!

Looks like the weather is gonna hold out for Allie's camp week! Yay!! Nice today in the mid 70's and gonna hit mid 80's for the rest of the week so says the news guy.

Off to read while the house is quiet! Everyone is napping but me!! Hooray!!!

Sick Babies SUCK!!!

Well, we missed church today cuz Gracie and Allie are SICK!! I hate fevers. With the febral seizures that both Allie and Luke had as infants there's no sickness that scares me more than this. Well, so far. God willing there won't be much worse!! So far we've managed to keep the seizures at bay with Grace and I think she's about outgrown the age to have them at this point.

Luke went to Nana's house for the night and the girls laid around like slugs on the couch and watched movies. They sure are calm when they're sick!! Makes for an unusually quiet house! This coming week is "Camp Idyllwild" so I hope Allie is feeling better so she can go!!! (too young for real camp, so she gets a week at Nana and Papa's every summer :P)

Mark has one more week of the rotating shift before he starts on DAYSHIFT!!! I don't even know what to expect. This will be the first time since I've known him that he will be working a REGULAR, DAY shift!! SO WEIRD!! It'll be four on and four off every week so he'll still have the long weekends with the family, but his body will actually be able to get used to a normal routine! It's not forever, just until the company finds another supervisor to replace the one that just retired, but Mark figures it'll be until the Spring at least. Will make for a much more relaxed holiday season this year! Yay!!

Coast Trip 2008

We were so excited to get away to the coast for a few days. Our friends, Martin and Jessica, along with my mom and dad, and US all rented a house right on the beach! It was so fun! Being there in a house with tons of room and a stone's throw away from the beautiful ocean really got our wanters going for our own beach house. Maybe someday!

Martin and Jessica hauled out their quads for us to play around with! Oh my what fun that was!!! Even Mom and Dad got in the groove, although I think Mom wins for "having the most fun at the slowest speed"!!! hehe! She took all the kids around thought which was nice and safe!

It rained for most of the time we were there...had the worst storm of the season of COURSE!! But we didn't let it slow us down! BTW, rain in the face while cruising down the beach on a quad? OWIE!!! LOL

Welcome!

I figured it was time to get into the whole "Blogging generation" for those members of my friends and family that don't "myspace" or "facebook"!! :D

The PLAN is to keep up on it and let y'all know what we're up to on a weekly basis! We've got two kids in school this year so there should be plenty to "blog" about! Wish me luck on keeping up the momentum!
