Here's the situation.

Thanks everyone for your prayers today and all your emails saying such and checking in on Mark. We've just gotten home from the hospital, they didn't make him an in-patient, they just did more evaluation in the ER.

Here's the scoop.

Mark has been sick off and on for over three months now. In between the illnesses, he's never been 100%....always had malaise and just never quite the Mark we all know and love. So when he came down with the flu yet AGAIN, I started thinking something was up. This particular bug has him REALLY down. So he went to the doctor yesterday, then this morning we took him in for chest xrays and blood work to check for mono and whatever else. The xrays are fine, no fluid, no mono, but his white blood cells are quadruple the normal range and triple what they would be for general infection fighting. He's also very anemic. In the ER the doctor there re-ran all those tests to make sure the numbers weren't lab error since they are SO high. It is not an error. Mark has been so sick in recent months because his immune system is not functioning properly.

This means one of two different possibilities:
1. Mark has a blood infection that is affecting the immune system that will most likely be remedied by strong anti-biotics. Or....
2. Mark has leukemia.

We have an appointment tomorrow with a Hemocologist (blood specialist) who is doing further evaluation on Mark's blood and will be able to tell us what we are dealing with. We are obviously praying it's an infection that we can treat quickly and have him feeling like himself again! The appointment is at 11:30 (not 9am like we thought earlier today) and as soon as I get home I will be sure to post and let you all know what's happening.

Thank you again SO much for your prayer. We need more please!!

On a side note, Grace was also tested for Mono and it came back negative. She was wheezing pretty bad when we were in the doctor's office yesterday and he put her on two different inhalers. She's like a new kid today! She just must not have been getting enough oxygen in her little body making her so tired and sickly. She's better though today! Thanks for your prayers on that one too! God is good!

This scripture we pray will give you peace-Jeremiah 30:17 says "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,' declares the LORD,".
We love you all and if there is anything we can help with, please don't hesitate to ask! We're only 20 minutes away (or sooner if Martin drives!hehe).
