So I found something really cool that I plan on sharing here. It's a book called "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Christian Prayer and Devotions". I know I need inspiration and reminders during my day so I decided YOU all did too!!!! :D
The Westminster Larger Catechism, written in 1647 as a statement of the doctrine of the Christian faith begins this way:
Question: What is the chief and highest end of man?
Answer: Man's chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy Him forever.
This reflects what the Bible tells us about our relationship with God. It is personal, one on one relationship in which we have the privilege of praising and glorifying God through both word an deed and in doing so, fully enjoying His presense.
So here starts my guide for us all. I hope you enjoy it as much as I will enjoy sharing it.
Chapter 1: Accepting God's invitation to fellowship with Him through words of praise and worship.
"Oh Jesus, you do not need us to worship you as God. Without you we cannot know God, the creator and protector of the universe. We are unworthy, we should always learn from you. With you we have life, without you we are like lost sheep which have gone astray. We want you to be together with us, teacher, friend! We want to sing hymns of praise to you, offering you our sincer love and respect." - T.C. Chao
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, as the Psalmist records. Lord, You made us for Yourself, help us to worship You with all of our minds, hearts and strength. Let this not be a duty but a joy and delight. You are indeed worthy to receive honor, glory, praise and thanksgiving for all You have done for us. Let us in our worship see the beauty of Your holiness, for You indeed inhabit the praises of Your people. We praise You along with the myriad number of angels and the saints whom You have redeemed in a heavenly chorus that shouts, "Hallelujah, for the Lord our God the Almighty reigns." We also say along with the church throughtout the world, "Worthy is the Lamb, to receive honor and glory, riches and power, forever and ever. Amen." " - James S. Bell Jr.
